A short Q+A with Windflower's principal photographer, Stephen Downes
Q: Do you have experience shooting outside the New York area?
A: I love to travel for shoots. Places in which I have been fortunate to photograph include London, Paris, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, CA, New England, Seattle, FL, DC, TX, Oklahoma and the Hamptons/Montauk.
Q: When may we see our pictures?
A: Without a doubt you will want to see some of your pictures right away. Therefore, within a few days of your wedding we will provide a link to a password-protected online gallery which will contain a small selection of images for your viewing. You will receive your complete set of high-res images, including B+W, typically 6-10 weeks after your wedding (and sometimes sooner).
Q: Will you be available as our wedding approaches to meet and discuss last-minute details?
A: Yes, absolutely. I am always available to meet and talk with you.
Q: Would you tell us about the packages you offer?
A: To keep it simple, we offer one amendable package as a starting point:
- eight hours of wedding day coverage
- a color and B+W version of your photographs
- an online gallery of images for sharing with family and friends
- an online slide show of my favorite images for sharing with family and friends
- a hard drive/disc of your high-res digital negatives
Items such as an engagement portrait session, albums, additional hours and a second photographer may be added at your discretion.
Q: Do you provide albums?
A: Yes. We work with the very best manufacturer in the world to ensure that your wedding albums are gorgeous.
Q: What are your travel fees?
A: I do not charge for travel within Manhattan; a fee for travel outside of Manhattan would apply.
Q: What kind of equipment will be used?
A: I use Canon’s top professional cameras, L-2 series lenses and flashes. All of my equipment is backed up.
Q: How many images do we get?
A: Typically, you will receive approximately 2000-2500 high-res files in color and B+W.
Q: Is there a time limit as to how long you will stay?
A: Absolutely not. We will accommodate any time request.
Q: How may we hire/confirm you?
A: A signed agreement and a retainer of 50% are necessary to reserve your date(s).
